Written with Dr. Katherine Cennamo from Virginia Tech and Dr. Peg Ertmer from Purdue, Technology Integration for Meaningful Classroom Use: A Standards-Based Approach is the first textbook for teacher preparation that addresses the new National Educational Technology Standards for Teachers (NETS-T) developed by the International Society for Technology Education. The first half of the textbook addresses each of the standards in order through a framework intended to help students become self-regulated learners. Portfolio activities are suggested for each standard.

The second half of the book consists of nine short chapters written by guest experts and focusing on integrating technology in the following content areas:

  • English language arts
  • English Language Learners
  • Foreign Language
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Social Studies
  • Health and Physical Education
  • Art
  • Music

My co-authors and I plan to devleop this site to allow professors who adopt the text and teachers who use it to share their ideas about the book and seek input for revisions.
